Project 1

Researchers at Swiss TPH made important step toward deeper understanding of how malaria blood stage parasites turn the switch to become transmissible to other humans. This knowledge is fundamental for future research aiming to interrupt malaria transmission. Results were published in the journal Science.

Project 2

RTS,S: most advanced candidate for a malaria vaccine. Swiss TPH helped coordinate a large-scale clinical trail involving more than 16,000 children. Swiss TPH also calculated the long-term impact and cost-effectiveness of RTS,S in 43 African countries.
