The Swiss Malaria Group welcomes two new members as of 2024

The Swiss Malaria Group (SMG), a key player in the global f ight against malaria, is pleased to welcome two new members in 2024. This development reflects our commitment to eradicating malaria through innovative and collaborative efforts.

The two entities that have just joined the Swiss Malaria Group are Noul Diagnostics, a pioneering South Korean start-up with a base in Switzerland, and FarmStrong Foundation, a Swiss Foundation with a focus on integrated agricultural systems and health programmes, including malaria prevention and management.

Noul Diagnostics, known for its innovative diagnostic solutions in blood and tissue diagnostics, has developed a cutting-edge Digital microscopy-based malaria diagnostic tool, miLab™ MAL. Such innovative diagnostic tools align perfectly with the Swiss Malaria Group's emphasis on innovative solutions in the fight against malaria.

FarmStrong Foundation, established in 2016 and based in Epalinges, Switzerland, with a permanent team in Ivory Coast, is dedicated to promoting resilient and structured rural economic development. The Foundation’s health programmes, which include extensive malaria-prevention and management interventions, demonstrate a deep commitment to addressing malaria in a holistic manner. It thus represents an ideal partner for the Swiss Malaria Group.

“The inclusion of Noul Diagnostics and FarmStrong Foundation into the Swiss Malaria Group is a great reflection of our intersectoral and dynamic approach to progress towards malaria eradication,” said Manuel Hetzel, president of the Swiss Malaria Group. “Noul’s innovative diagnostics and FarmStrong’s integrated approach to health and development perfectly match our association’s multi stakeholder partnership across the value chain from innovation to application”.

Over the past 10 years, the Swiss Malaria Group has been a driving force in uniting various stakeholders in the battle against malaria. With the addition of these new members, the SMG renews its dedication to fostering innovative solutions, advocacy, and partnerships to make significant progress in the global fight against malaria.
